Hello, I’m Gen - a multidisciplinary artist, producer and facilitator based in Bristol, UK.

I work across live art, social practice, fooling, clowning, costume, film and installation. I love storytelling through many mediums, especially live and participatory ones.

Embodied play is centred in my creative practice as a methodology to learn, connect and transform from the personal to the political. I work with the archetype of The Fool - the zero in a tarot deck, ready to step off a cliff edge into the unknown. I use impulse, improvisation and multisensory experiences to connect with myself, my materials, the environment I’m in and the people I’m with.

Throughout my life I've lived and worked in co-operative art spaces and anti-hierarchical social experiments. I’m fascinated with discovering what collaboration, autonomy, access and inclusion means to people I engage with.

Producing and facilitation are also integral parts of my practice - creating theatre shows, immersive events, workshops and projects rooted in values of social justice, accessibility and collective care.
